Oxford AstraZeneca Vaccine The University of Oxford, AstraZeneca vaccine is a vaccine that aims to protect people against COVID-19. Many people have been waiting for the distribution of Covid vaccines to return to the so-called new normal. In promoting the vaccines Public Health England, the NHS, scientists, doctors and nurses are telling the public that the vaccines are safe, they have completed trials, have been approved and work. In a recent BBC Panorama programme Professor Sarah Gilbert the lead behind the Oxford coronavirus vaccine stated: "We do not know how it works but we can't wait so get on with it." Surely if a vaccine has been approved and trialed we should know how it works?
This short clip contains important information, information that pro-covid vaxxers should be able to answer. Particularly when asked if the vaccine is safe, how effective it is and does it stop viral transmission? Listen carefully to the clip and the content. The interviewer states: 1. "We still do not know how effective the vaccine is." 2. "We do not know how long protection lasts or even if it stops virus transmission." 3. "We have to have a lot of doses ready to go. We know we do not know how it works yet." Surely if trials have successfully been completed all of the statements made in the video can be answered by health professionals? If, the scientists who created this vaccine do not know how it works then how can they say it is safe. Professor Gilbert seems more concerned that batches that have been manufactured will go to waste. Is her concern the prevention of a virus or the destruction of a product? When the scientist who helped create a vaccine states that they do not know how it works, how can qualified health professionals, celebrities or Joe public advocates tell others it is safe?
